Lynn Ivey
President, CEO, and Acting Center Director
Lynn has over 25 years experience in the banking industry with Bank of America and Wachovia predecessor, First Union. She has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and Finance. Having relocated with the banks, Lynn has led teams of successful mortgage sales associates and retail consumer branch professionals. Her roles as SC Coastal Consumer Market Executive in Charleston SC and National Sales Process Manager in Charlotte provided Lynn with the business expertise to launch a project such as The Ivey. In Charleston, she had responsibility from Myrtle Beach to Hilton Head; her market was ranked among the highest among her peers in the Carolinas in many key areas of success and profitability. In Charlotte, she created a national role that required project development of job functionality, salary and incentive programs, training and development, and ultimately deployed over 200 new associates nationwide. Lynn's success has always been realized because of her ability to surround herself with the right people on the team at the right time.
Her new journey began 3 years ago in April 2004 with a personal family experience with her mother who had dementia. Because of the decline in her mother's health, Lynn took a leave of absence from Bank of America to help her father make decisions about the right kind of care for his wife of 51 years. Adult day care became a critical component of her mother's daily care plan, providing social stimulation and medical supervision, without the requirement to move from their home in Wilmington, NC. An added bonus was the addition of a daily restful break for her father which helped him become a more effective caregiver. Compassion for her Mother and other older adults with similar conditions, combined with her business acumen and corporate savvy from a highly successful 25-year banking career, inspired Lynn to launch the development of The Ivey in January 2005.
