Charlotte NC, October 30, 2019: “A Purple Luncheon”: Hosts Extraordinaire Anne Neilson and Leslie Culbertson attended a Purple Luncheon in Dallas TX in 2018, and decided they would create one in their hometown of Charlotte NC. Did they ever! They brought together over 300 women and men to raise money for Alzheimer’s research and hear Maria Shriver speak with Dr. Chuck Edwards, founder of the Memory Care Center Charlotte, and Dr. Laura Baker, a professor at Wake Forest School of Medicine and the lead researcher in 4 national Alzheimer’s lifestyle trials. They gave a big shout-out to founding sponsor Lynn Ivey, founder of The Ivey and Friends of The Ivey, along with Tracy Reading and the amazing Charlotte Wrappers who shared their poignant and personal stories about how Alzheimer’s has touched their lives.
